Recently, I visited the Guangyan New Materials project in Yangting Town, Huancui District. Phase II construction is progressing intensively, while production equipment is being debugged intensively in the completed Phase I workshop.
Invested and constructed by Shandong Guangyan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., the project primarily develops and produces medical respiratory paper, biotransfer membranes, and custom medical equipment. These products are widely used in medical packaging, protective clothing, and other fields. The project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, is divided into two phases. Construction of the Phase I workshop has been completed, and the cleanroom renovation and equipment installation are currently underway. The medical respiratory paper production line is expected to begin production by the end of the year, with the biofilm production line to follow shortly. The Phase II project, including Building 4 and the north building of Building 3, has topped out. The main structure of the east side of Building 3 and the foundation work for Building 2 are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Medical respiratory paper has a wide range of applications, but the technical barriers are high. To achieve breakthroughs, the Guangyan New Materials R&D team continuously refined product formulas, improved production processes, and independently developed production equipment. After over three years and thousands of experiments, they finally achieved domestic production. The preliminary research and development of medical respiratory paper has been nearly completed. Guangyan New Materials, leveraging its technological advantages in this field, has been shortlisted for the biomedical materials innovation task force announced jointly by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Medical Products Administration.
Currently, the Guangyan New Materials project is rapidly preparing for mass production in the first phase, aiming to achieve an annual production capacity of 1,000 tons of medical respiratory paper within three years of the project's announcement. The project leader stated that there were no existing medical respiratory paper production lines in China to draw upon, forcing them to design their own. The production equipment is now nearly complete. Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate an annual output value exceeding 500 million yuan.
This confidence stems not only from the company's long-term technological research and development efforts, but also from the intangible driving force of the industrial cluster. In recent years, Yangting Town has prioritized the development of key enterprises, focusing on expanding leading enterprises and strengthening the medical materials sector. The goal is to expand a number of key enterprises, put a number of key enterprises into production and achieve profitability, attract investment and reserve a number of enterprises, and cultivate a number of key enterprises in the town's industries. Through a "full-chain improvement" initiative, the town is strengthening its industrial clusters, focusing on building and strengthening industrial chains. Focusing on innovation collaboration, production support, and supply and marketing cooperation, the district is comprehensively expanding its industrial chain and promoting cluster-based development.
Huancui District will continue to strengthen its outreach and service efforts to businesses, serving as a "shop assistant" for them, fostering a favorable business environment, supporting the expansion and development of industrial clusters, and promoting high-quality regional economic development.
