A major project every week | Shandong Guangyan New Materials Production Phase II Project: Further promoting the localization of medical "breathing paper"

On October 14th, at the construction site of Shandong Guangyan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.'s Phase II project in Yangting Town, Huancui District, Weihai City, all three buildings were topped out. Factory Building 2 has already topped out, while Complex Buildings 3 and 4 are currently under renovation. "We expect the entire construction portion of the project to be completed by the end of this year, with renovations to the indoor cleanroom progressing simultaneously with the production line. Large-scale production is expected to begin by the end of 2027," said the project manager for the Shandong Guangyan New Materials project.

The Guangyan New Materials production project, constructed in two phases, primarily develops and produces medical "breathing paper," bioprocess membranes/bags, and CM adhesives. These products are widely used in the medical and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.

For example, medical "breathing paper" has a wide range of applications, but high technical barriers mean it relies primarily on imports in China. The Shandong Guangyan New Materials R&D team has continuously refined product formulas, improved production processes, and independently developed production equipment. After thousands of experiments, they have finally achieved the domestic production of medical "breathing paper." "Currently, medical 'breathing paper' has broken the reliance on others, and the market is essentially in short supply. Our bioprocess membrane production equipment is the only one in China, featuring a nine-layer under-film air-blowing system, eliminating the need to import all membrane materials for bioprocess bags. CM glue is the first in the world to combine chlorinated polyethylene rubber with isoprene rubber to replace halogenated butyl rubber. This technology is used in medical syringe pistons, needle caps, and vial stoppers, eliminating the reliance on imported raw materials and significantly reducing raw material costs. Currently, the market prospects for these products are very promising," explained the official.

After the first phase of the project went into production, orders poured in, and the company's production capacity was simultaneously stretched. Therefore, the second phase of the project is being expanded to seize market share. The official revealed that upon completion, 10 new production lines for industrial textiles and one production line for pharmaceutical equipment will be added to develop and produce medical "breathing paper" and cell transfer bags. Upon reaching full production, the project is expected to generate over 500 million yuan in annual revenue, nearly 200 million yuan in profits and taxes, and create over 200 jobs.
